Tuned Rotorua created After School Mountain Bike Clinics with a vision to support youth MTB riders with new skillsets to improve their riding capabilities, and it has proven itself to be one of the most fun and epic ways for youth riders to improve their abilities. Rotorua is bursting with young and keen mountain bikers and we’re pumped to be offering suitable programs that will help them all learn and shine.

A Pathway for Every Rider
We’re excited to be giving the next generation more than just after-school clinics – we’re offering a pathway to progress and succeed.
Introduction Groups: Building the Foundations
Our Introduction 1, 2, and 3 groups are now bookable online and are perfect for riders keen on building confidence and learning the foundations of mountain biking. These groups focus on fostering a love for the sport, while having the best time with like-minded kids. Our expert coaches will guide riders through the program that’s designed to be engaging, challenging, and most importantly, fun!
Competitive and Performance Programs: Taking it to the Next Level
For riders looking to take their skills to the next level, our Competitive and Performance programs are invitational programs that will be open to applications. These programs will give junior riders the support to step into the competition space and build their race craft knowledge with riders of a similar ability. Our coaches will work closely with riders to develop their race skills and help them get closer to their full potential.
The Details
  • Meeting Location: Main Waipa MTB Carpark, Rotorua
  • Session Times: 4pm-6pm (2 hours)
  • Term Dates: School Terms 1 and 4
  • Skill Development: New skill each week, with 10 skills covered over the term
  • Safety First: Clinics will be cancelled in unsafe weather. Cancelled sessions will not be rescheduled and are non-refundable. All coaches hold current First Aid certificates.
  • Group Ratio – 1 Instructor : 8 Participants
  • Participant requirements: Bring their own bikes / protection and adequate clothing for the conditions. Water and snacks (small backpack or big pockets!)

• INTRODUCTION 1 GROUP - 5-7 Years - Every Monday beginning 12th October - 14th December 2026 (Excluding 26th October - Labour Day)
• INTRODUCTION 2 GROUP - 8-10 Years - Every Tuesday beginning 13th October - 15th December 2026
• INTRODUCTION 3 GROUP - 11-13 Years - Every Wednesday beginning 14th October - 16th December 2026
