Here are some common questions we get asked, and the answers.

What do I need to bring?

All potential clients must bring their own helmet and bicycle, wear adequate apparel (t-shirt, shorts and covered shoes) to participate. Cycle Helmets may be checked to assure they meet the AS/NZS 2063 Cycle Helmet Safety Standard or of a similar standard (sticker usually inside of helmet). Retail stores are close to our meeting location where equipment is available to hire if you require. A waterproof jacket, additional body protection, snacks and hydration is recommended. 

Will the clinic go ahead if it is raining?

Tuned Rotorua will do all we can to make sure your clinic goes ahead, so long as the weather conditions do not appose any major threat or hazardous activity to your session. Weather conditions outside of the below parameters may cause the activity to be postponed, altered or cancelled:

– Temperature: -10°C to 35°C (14°F to 95°F)
– Rain: Scheduled heavy downpours (more than 60ml over 3 hours)
– Wind: Up to 50 km/h (31 mph) consistently over 3 hours – alternative meeting locations available depending on direction.
– Visibility: At least 10 meters (32 feet)

Weather conditions may change frequently depending on the location, weather concerns will be communicated via email.

Where do we meet you?

Our main meeting location is at the Waipa Mountain Bike Carpark (next to the bike wash station). If you would like to request meeting in a different location, you may send through a request via email to communicate an alternative meeting location. If weather conditions pose any additional risks, the location may be changed at last minute for safety and risk management. Meeting times will be sent out via our booking confirmation

What are the risks involved with my participation?

Mountain Biking is an activity that has a degree of risk that increases with the grade of the trail. Choosing to participate in a coaching session may include but are not limited to: Crashing your bicycle with / by falling, moving, slipping, hitting motions into obstacles, other riders, machinery, or vehicles. Clients will not be placed under any pressure to perform skills if they do not feel comfortable in doing so. All Clients that choose to sign and participate in Tuned Rotorua’s Clinics will accept that their safety is not guaranteed but all will be done to manage their safety. Tuned Rotorua will not accept any liability for injuries or illness caused whilst attending our activities providing that we are not directly at fault. What if riders within a clinic are not as confident as others?
Tuned Rotorua’s priority is safety and customer experience. All clients will stick together as a group, learn the skills and techniques to build confidence levels in a no pressure environment.
Am I able to get a refund as I am no longer available?

Life can be hectic and often difficult to juggle, Our refund policy is to give 48 hours notice prior to the clinic starting to receive a refund excluding a processing fee. Terms and Conditions visible bottom of home page.
